From may 13th untill may 15th 2009 Donostia-San Sebastián welcomes the 13th edition of the ECOMM.

EPOMM, the European Platform On Mobility Management, is a network of seven EU’s member states and is supported by the European Commission. Under EPOMM’s control, the European Conference On Mobility Management “ECOMM” has turned into a consolidated and highly valued forum of anual conferences.  ECOMM is the annual meeting place of experts and specialist on mobility management from Europe. The aim of this conference is the development and promotion of the “Mobility Management” concept as well as to extend knowledge of this matter.

12 ECOMM  were already celebrated in nine different EU’s countries, Spain will be its host for the first time this year.

Donostia-San Sebastian’s Town Hall, with the colaboration of the Spanish Climate concerned Cities’ network, organizes the ECOMM 2009 from may 13th till may 15th in this town.

In its 13th edition this conference will pay special attention to the costs-benefits analysis and evaluation of the mobility management.

The conference featuring more than 60 speakers from all over Europe, divided into parrallel meetings and interactive workshops, will raise diverse questions of great impact on urban mobility as the evaluation and costs-benefits analysis, urban planning, recovery of public spaces, local acces, reawakening of the bicycle as a mean of transport, health/obesity, leisure turism…

Furthermore it will be a prize-giving to the best mobility plans in Europe in three categories: Public Administration, Employees and Networks. An international jury have chosen the best 10 plans between 49, that will be showing in the conference.
